I don't know the best, but the worst is loves gas. My old truck's 460 will run fine on anything else, but knocks on loves regular. Normally run citgo or marathon....

It looks like Speedway (and Love's) is the only one in your list that's not on the "Top Tier Detergent" list from the automakers, whatever that's worth: http://www.toptiergas.com/licensedbrands/

Maybe the additive package, as they all advertise of having something "special"!

I got a tank full of rusty water in my truck from my local hess. They had to pay the repair bill. State made them after testing the fuel in their tanks. Might have been a random problem. but I have never been back.

I've always used Mobil 93 octane in my old jet boat. I've been into the carb a time or two and it's always been clean. Also, when my son's old Chevy 4x4 was running a 1969 high-compression 350 we normally bought 93 from the same station. That carb was always clean too, and we never had detonation issues.

Raceway regular is not fit to run in your lawn mower, as far as I am concerned. I have a jeep and it runs like crap if I put Raceway in it. Also a few years ago they distributed some really bad gas that caused them to have to do major repairs to vehicles that had ingested it.
I really like Shell gas. It seems to run great. Maybe something better out there, but that's what I am using right now.Last edited by SANTAFE; 05-19-2017 at 11:06 AM.

the hess stations down there were HORRIBLE about **** gas. If I had to guess I'd say they were owned by the same people.
I try to stick with shell, mobile, chevron, etc, in my Cayenne GTS (4.8 DFI) but it doesn't matter what station, if it's in a "poor" neighborhood, DO NOT buy premium. The chances of the gas being old are much higher in those cases. Last time I was in Houston on the way back, pulling my boat, I got a load of phillips 66 with water in it and ended up with hesitation and stalling issues the last 50 miles of the drive. I'm pretty lucky I didn't end up with 3 screwed up fuel pumps because of it.> Stainless steel Merc cowling plates - $110 shipped TYD - LINK <

My car is a BMW Z4M Coupe. Engine is the S54 that is the 6 cylinder M motor from the M3. 3.2 litres, 330 hp. They can be touchy. I spend some time on a few BMW Z4 boards (by the way, they are interesting but not nearly as active or helpful as Scream and Fly). For its additive package, most of them swear by the Shell V-Power premium. I buy cheaper gas, but always TopTier (that is a real thing), and run a tank of V-Power about every tenth tank. When I have a running boat again, it will get nothing but non-ethanol gas; if I have to buy rec 90 and add Aces, so be it. Tired of gas going bad because I can't boat that often.

I try to stick to companies that refine their own fuel..shell, mobil, etc.. all those off brand save a penny a gallon places like speedway or racetrac are just a nightmare waiting to happen. I've found that from my old f100 to my modern engines that shell is consistently best
