No, just the cut outs in the lower. I made a couple block off plates a minute ago, I'm going to try them out. There is an area where we run that has a bunch of houses around and I'm sure they don't like the noise. This thing sounds like a dragster . I'm trying to hook up my water temp gauge now, I grounded the tan wire with the blue stripe coming from the starboard head and the overheat alarm sounded. I guess I should use the solid tan wire in the harness at the control box for the gauge

What a difference an inch makes, it drives like a different boat after lowering the motor . It was very choppy today with about 10 mph winds. I was only able to get it up to 62 at around 5200 rpm but it drove great , I could've let go of the wheel if I wanted . Temp sender is working, temp stayed around 115-120 but water pressure is still kinda low at about 8 psi. I had to order a poppet kit because no place in town had one. Hopefully that will help. I never trimmed it up , I'm sure I could trim it up a little and unwet the hull and really get some speed out of it.

Sweet! Need to get some seat time now. Get used to it and then start raising 1/4 in at time until stops gaining speed. The srx usually likes to be ran high, but depends on how it's worked. It may actually run close to where you had it but just getting on top of the water at slow speeds without enough force to lift bow. Good luck, nice to see ya heading it right direction. When top speed is met with close to neautral trim your hieght and set back is correct.

I feel like I should be able to get 70-75 mph out of it. I was running 61.8 on GPS at around 5200 rpm

Does neutral trim mean propshaft level with bottom or water? Just to be clear. Thanks!

With boat lol. You want all the thrust to be straight parallel both boat pushing you forward. Don't won't waste any force upward or downward trying to lift boat.

ok Im not that far from it. Just a little positive trim angle in full speed. Have to move for/rear balance a bit.

Then your pretty close, it's hard to get one to run perfectly level. That's just your goal. Usually as you raise motor it'll take less trim. But there is so many variables that effect it. Too much pitch or too much cup can effect it also. I've found that extra tip cup is actually slower if you don't need it, it's less efficient. And/ or the extra cup or pitch causes engine to not make high enough rpm with motor level it will run faster with more positive trim but not as efficient as a "looser" prop ran level. Just takes a lot of trial and error to find right set up. Set-back changes the "fulcrum" point that changes leverage that makes a difference in amount of trim required to lift boat also. Just keep playing until find that "magic" set up. As close as you are, I would try raising a little. If that's not enough try playing with cup a little and don't be surprised that removing some isn't the ticket even if it doesn't feel like the right thing to do.
