A Life Vest That We'll Wear!

I Recently Posted About A New Vest That Is For Sale That Is Similar To The Life Lines/Security/ETC. The RCD Vest Is Nice But Like The Other Race Vests, Uncomfortable! With Recent, Unfortunate, Things That Have Happened Here In Florida, I Looked Into A Life Vest That #1) Will Float You IF You Come Out Of The Boat Without Coming Off. #2) Is Comfortable That We Would Wear It, #3) Is Affordable. What I Came Up With Is A Stern's Performance Series Vest/Jacket. It Comes With A Neck Support, Three Chest Straps, Pleated Back So It Fits Your Body And Isn't Uncomfortable, And #4) Has Leg/Crotch Straps(2). Now They Are NOT A Race Vest! So, IF You Plan On Racing Or Testing I'd Suggest Buying A Vest That Is Designed For That! BUT! They Won't Fly Off On Impact Due To Not Having Leg/Crotch Straps. Price Varies... I Bought 2-Of Them. One Was $55.00 The 2nd One Was $66.00. Got Them Off Amazon. I Am And Have Been Guilty Of Running A LOT Harder Than I Should Without A Life Vest On. it, But With Something That Is SAFE! And Comfortable, I For One, Will Start Wearing One! I'm Tired Of Hearing About People I Know Or Read What They Have To Say On This Board Because They Are To Stuburn To Put A Life Jacket... Of ANY KIND... On! This Is A Cheep Price To Pay To Save Your Or Someone Riding With You, Life! Hope This Helps!!

I recently bought a 4185 org SAR. It fits better than any PFD I have ever owned. Has 2 leg straps, 3 big 2" buckles and zipper in front. Does not ride up in the back when you sit down.

Warning: if you don't like ORANGE, that's the only way it comes.

    Good stuff Mike!

I stumbled on something very similar, yrs ago at a marine surplus house in Fla.
I bought a bunch and sold them to friends.

Loved them and believe they're Stearns.

    Great post Mike.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.
