This conversion will be low budget using lots of junk I have laying around. The motor is a 260 hp mercruiser with a cracked block. The internals will be put into a bare block I bought a while back for 50 bucks. The pump is a Berkeley JE with trim adjust that I bought for 150 bucks.

Looks like the hull will be a good one to do to the conversion to. Nice flat section in front of the intake..

after much playing around with scrap wood I have laying around I devised what I would call an extension box ? this extension is about ten inches and the angle will be set to the pumps angled mounting flange. several small lengths of 2x4 will be used as a framework to support 2 layers of plywood . im considering adding some metal to further stiffen the whole arrangement. and lots of fiberglass.

gonna mount the engine as far forward as possible . I don't have much into the motor and thinking a lighter engine was a good suggestion.

junk pics
the junk boat was bbf and the intake was wider and shorter and the rock grate was deeper inside the hole. im gonna stick with the omc grate and still unsure on my tunnel material. might go aluminum might go with fiberglass
if anyone wants some bbf stuff I can get exhaust and bellhousing with top starter
I should have looked up in there for an inducer.............
there was no jetovator/trim adjust/place diverter. one piece bowl
now im looking at this pic and wondering if this was bbc??
nobody was home
