I 100% agree! Screw Fartbook! Because of FB I have lost over half of the traffic to my forums (The hydrostream forums) as well and no matter what people say to do, I cant seem to get the traffic back like it used to be. Facebook makes it way to easy to post and get instant gratification. I personally like forums WAY better. At least a week later, you can still find posts and everything is in one place and conversations arent all over the place. lol

I doubt many folks other than Greg and the Admins give SNF more attention than I do...
I hit the activity stream here probably 5-10 times almost every day, and don't plan to change that! Also have been a VIP member since joining in 2012. After reading Greg's post about ad blockers and site revenue I plan to step up to supporting member when my current membership runs out. I have no plans to change this at all.
I also agree that the archival of information is MUCH superior in a forum setting. I have spent countless hours on here searching and reading old posts. Many of my favorites are from YEARS ago, not just weeks! I have accumulated most of my high performance boating knowledge here!
I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE!!!
That said, I would still appreciate it if somebody could give me an add to the "High Performance Boating" page on Facebook I would appreciate it. Just another avenue to keep up with the community, learn something new, and follow buy and sell activity...Josh Peterson

I don't have Facebook at all. Been 2.5yrs since I said i can't take it anymore.
No, I don't think your three armed child is beautiful your melted faced wife or your stretch marks, not for a second. Sorry.
No, I don't want to click like when i see two men kiss
No, I don't care if your dog poo has worms
I'm sure Jesus understands why I don't click like within' 10 seconds on his photo
I don't think your daddy is gonna quit smoking if you get 10k likes
I'm sure its worse now, how could it not be.
I actually got my yahoo name banned from yahoo for telling it like it is.
But I do miss browsing boat, car and motor pages on assbook.
There isn't a guest way to browse. You get about 15 seconds and a huge white square pops up like your trying to sneak a free peak at granny porn or worse yet, CNN.
But I have heard if you can't find parts on here, High Performance Boating is a place to look and also another one called something like STV Racing, or something close to that.If I don't ask any questions, I'll never learn anything.

You can unfollow those individuals who post tons of annoying crap, you can block pages that post annoying or offensive material, and you don't have to "friend" everyone you know!
You can control and limit what you see on FB to mostly what you want to see.
I only include close friends and family. I don't follow the pages I'm a member of, and I don't allow it to send me any notifications when I get a new post or whatever. I get on there when I want to, and I look at the stuff I want to see. I have done a pretty good job at filtering out most of the crap that I don't want to see!Josh Peterson

I agree with every one. I'm on there only to be part of the boating groups. Hypo. Allison. Single out board. I don't have any friends. I don't even friend family members. I'm on there to keep up with the boating groups and that's it. Face book is great for finding parts and posting pix/videos. Scream and fly is where it all began for me and I will all ways remember where I come from.
