and never use the same seal twice, once torqued it spreads. One time only and clean all surfaces, no grit.

Little tutorial how orings work, intended. 21 year a Maintenance Machinist, had tubes in a lathe, cut for rings. Now on that oring on the gearcase? Wheres the seal surface Its not meant for that as will flatten out, tear when torqued. (OK, SNUG IS TORQUE that)..Do it right, or do it again....(Damn, I shoulda)

I have got loads of fibre washers also copper washers, the o-rings I have are perfect, not the cheapo crap that rot before you use them.

I will use a fibre washer as I do prefer those over rubber to be honest.

the allen head looks a much better idea, I will see if I can get one at a local fasteners as he has some pretty nice stuff.
would like a nice deep allen head , definitely better than the daft large cross head thing.

I think last time I looked at my gearcase oil I put fibre washer on there ??? not sure , but will be checking that out again soon anyway.
Will definitely be looking at getting the allen head bolt.

Doubt any fastener place would carry them as a low turnover item. Just go here and buy it. Read the reviews and questions. Guess for all OMC gearcases. These even have a magnet too. It will show at first, then move to middle page, so scroll back to the top.
