I have a 1988 xr4 magnum II 150. It was on a bass boat. It's now on an action marine 18 and pushes the boat 65 gps. I don't think it has any mods but is running without the idle controll box and its on mix gas.
Runs strong but likes to stall sometimes when going in to gear. I've not cleaned the carbs yet and bet the low speed jets are dirty. 1800 with a pretty new sei lower. In south carolina.

If you're still looking for an outboard I have a 175hp Merc with a 2.5 EFI cowling and Bobs nose cone. Nice motor, runs very strong.
