    Starting a new 21 Liberator. Maybe a 400R?

I'm just starting a new 21 Liberator. I will do the custom paint for now, but may not rig it right away. I want to rig it with a Mercury 400, but I need to sell something first. I put over $100K into the TUFF 28 I just finished, so I'm a little low on funds for a while. If someone wants it right away, I can finish it to their specs. Here's the white hull which I sanded down today. The whole nose will start out with a lime green fade to white.

Do the 400 !!!!! Love the engines!!!!
lightyears ahead of the 300xs. The 300 is an awesome engine but the 400 is a 12 year newer technology.

Hey Whipper - that's a complete 180 from you're opinion of the 400 R about 10 months ago . My 22 Talon with a 400 R is 16 mph faster than a 300 x was in the same conditions - temp , R H , wind etc. With the 300 x - 90 mph 4OO R - 106 .6 Zero to 100 in 28 seconds. I'm going to try to lift engine higher this year for more top speed by cutting a ramp in the hull - anybody have any ideas as to how to do this on this hull ? The center pod has a v shape to it - not sure how to cut ramp into the v . Would appreciate opinions. I have video of a 0 to 100 run but have no idea how to post it on here , but I could e mail it to anyone interested. Thanks Bob C.

Ha Ha good call yes it is. The first ones were setup on boats that were not designed around them so much I guess pluss props are getting better for them? But lately I have seen some way better performance from them like on a 28 Nordic running over 130!! SWEET! I also seen a 21ft fishing boat with a single that normally runs a 150 and that looked like fun. haha So ya im coming around. Out of my price range put im seeing the numbers and a 28 over 130 is mighty impressive! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8aW...ature=youtu.be

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qym9RACs76I Now this is a trailerable fishing boat with the 400R there are lots of clips on YouTube of 21 and 22ft boats with this motor now. And a 22ft Velocity 400R https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBzPV4ClmMg If these boats can handle them a 21 Liberator would be sick with one of these motors.

I had a couple 21 Liberators with twin 280's and a 38 gallon gas tank and batteries all in the back and had no issues.
