Yeah it comes quick. 90% of the top side is done. Didnt want to do the finish stuff before we flipped it. Last night we 400 grit and prepped the surface for sealer, paint, and clear coat for Thursday night.

I had a 79 Venus, those holes were from a short piece of angle aluminum from what I remember, not sure why it was there.

Cuda nailed it. The angle helps the longer hull of the vulture break the suction and get on the pad easier.

After a long night we got the color and clear on. Need a quick wet sand and cut and buff then flip it and do the top. VERY happy with how this is coming out for a couple of guy working after work while enjoying some beers.Click image for larger version.

You want a Mazco RE4 in 26 or 28 pitch, they have the bow lift you need for that Vulture, the aluminum angle that go on the side of the pad are necessary to help break the back end free from water suction after planing,my Vegas was one of the first ones built and it still had the Vulture bottom with the spray bars on the sides of pad.

The Vulture I did we put two through hull fittings in the pockets and hosed them into the splashwell for the vacuum breaks. Works better than the aluminum strips. Plust they make cool noises while at rest.

I have been thinking of doing that with mine vs the aluminum L brackets. I have none on there now but long ago there were some there. Suppose you wouldnt happen to have a picture or what style/type of fitting you used in the hull would you?

Brass through hulls from an old cabin cruiser. I think I posted them on your site forever ago somewhere..or here maybe. Used plastic fittings on the splash well but I was more comfortable with the brass for below the water line. I have a few more if you need a pair.

I followed capt's advise on this back in 2009 when I restored a pad vee Venus, worked great way better than the factory suggested angled alum. pieces. just my two cents
