Make sure the bow eye does not need any work before closing it up. This is the only way to access it.

Put two coats on last night to see how bad the checking is. It's not horrible. Needs sanded again, two more coats, maybe skim it in a couple places, sand prime paint.....

    Hopefully lol

Glazed the checking that sanding didn't get. Filled in nicely. Filled the radio hole in the dash and replaced a 12" section of rot on the side.

Still moving along on the body work. Been chipping away at the gear case during lunch the last couple weeks. Went with a torque master style cut.

Got the hull flipped over to try and get the bottom sanded and a couple spots to fill and fix and then painted.

Let's talk weight distribution. I'll have a 3 liter with a single ram trim, 25 gallons of fuel, the trim pump all in the back of the boat. Should I put the battery up front? I'm also a bigger guy at 260lbs.

I would keep all weight aft and low. The weight of anything up front is multiplied by distance from the transom. The reason behind the Vegas deck was to move the driver aft to improve weight distribution...

Because of you far forward you sit in a vulture, it needs all the weight it can get in the rear. Thats why 10+ of setback are key to get them to really fly as well. My batteries, fuel, etc... are all going in the rear on mine.
