Help replacing lower unit and midsection for 2005 225 mercury pro xs
I need to replace the lower unit and midsection. Serial #1B175025, 20" shaft 1.75 gear ratio. After seeing the prices for a reman torquemaster, I am thinking of replacing with a standard lower unit, does anyone know what part number I need to look for? Also, what would be involved in the install? I understand I would need a new prop nut kit (part number?) Anything else that needs to be replaced or adjusted? Has anyone done this before, any problems recommendations etc?
What midsections would work for me?

A fleet master lower is a direct replacement on the 3.0 mercs. Any 3.0 liter mid from a opti motor would work. Merc site has part #'s https://public-mercurymarine.sysonli...=englangDB=eng
83 V-King, 96 Mariner, 200 hp ff block 2.5 w/a 28p choppa
