Exclamation * Caldwell Racing Technology Billet Aluminum Race Engines - High Resolution Images *

Images are below - please scroll down

The Aluminum V6 Race Engine Is Reborn!

There was so much to see at Miami this year, but I know that out of everything, most of you really want to see the Caldwell Racing Technology engines.

This was the first time I was able to get a close look at these engines and I was just so impressed. The machine work is impeccable, and what is most important is that CRT is continuing to deliver on all counts; a billet aluminum offshore midsection with mount assembly and removable exhaust snout, as well as supporting engine components such as the tuner, diffuser, midsection components, and adapter plate.

Engine packages are ready for the 2.5-liter Race and Custom Race as well as 3.3, 3.5, and 4.0-liter Big Block models. There is so much happening here, and it's a very exciting time for us outboard performance guys.

Pro Marine is the exclusive distributor for CRT products, and I'm sure we will have them here to give us more details very soon.

I was also able to speak at length with Matthew Caldwell, which I will be publishing a feature article based on that interview. I also spent time talking to Pro Marine International Sales Manager Ricky Maldonado, who races his Action. Just very cool.

Check back later in the week for my full report. I'll also be adding more photos of the CRT products as well as full pricing information.

    Thanks!
    Greg

I spoke with Mike Caldwell at length as well. He is a really nice guy and seems committed to his project. I had expressed some insight into what needs to be done in order for these motors to make it into the pleasure boat market. There are a lot of larger O/B cat big owners that would be willing to spend some coin if the situation is right.

Thank you Mark, it was my pleasure and I really enjoyed discussing this incredible series of products with Matthew. I think CRT has most members here really excited. The V6 race engine is reborn now, and I'm so happy to see CRT really pushing forward and making this a reality.

The trickle-down technology will eventually make engines like these available to more and more people. The engines are just stellar.

First off what a work of art!!! Has the use of this engine been accepted by the boat racing organizations?

Matthew has done a Outstands job at creating a Masterpiece. It has Blood Sweat and Tears behind it not to mention the investment. Machining this from a Solid Billet has been a challenge to say the least and Matthew has refused to accept NO for a answer (that it couldn't be done) because we have had plenty of machine shops tell us that. But Matthew proved them wrong and continued to keep pushing and trying new thing and improving each time to give his customers a better product. For those of you that do not know Matthew Caldwell from the time his feet hit the ground till the time he just pass out asleep he is eating and breathing TWO STROKE!!! CRT really appreciates all the kind words and interest about the engines when you have one sitting on your transom it will have been worth the wait!!!

random curious question: Whats the powerhead bolt pattern going to be on the larger engines? I know the 2.5 is the same as the Merc 2.5, but what about the others-like a Merc 3.0/3.2? Evinrude 3.3? Just curious
