    TUFF 21

As the builder TUFF MARINE I am biased, so ask Firewalker about them.

Oh come on, we got plenty of bias to go around; so you are free to add yours too.

Then maybe you can answer a stupid question of mine here; these 21 vees are similiar to an old Checkmate 17 I have. They have more rise I think, but are still both basically a straight vee with assorted strake combos. I have to put in a transom, and am told I should do a pad mod at the same time to help cure bad chine walk above 60 on mine. Yet I don't here a thing about it here, what is the difference? Are you guys just real good drivers or does the extra 4'/&weight change the problem? Mine is a vee with full strakes.

Just seems like a 21'/300hp vee would be similiar to a 17'/200hp vee somewhat as far as handling.

The Tuff 21 is patterned after the challenger 21, it has a wider pad and different strakes, a concave notched transom, and a beautiful deck. The construction is where it really really shines, and makes it different from some other builders.

If you want an awsome offshore boat (with the usd/cdn $ it would ba a great deal for the US buyers), it is gonna be a hard boat to beat.

It is 10mph faster than my challenger power for power.

RT........oh ya, and I really really want one.

    $$$

Well my demo boat is available complete for $49,000 CND which is like five bucks US.
A new one out of the mould without motor, steering, etc, with interior all finished starts about $29,000 CND.
We have not weighed one properly yet (always in a hurry), but buy adding up the material were guessing around 1000 lb.
What Im really happy about is the boat is so ridged it feels like a little Skater.
Sho, every Vee must walk at some point, the boat will end up on the tip of the VEE and the prop is nocking it over. At that point you must interveen some how, steering(best), tabs(worst), or anything inbetween.

    300X

    Oh, yeah
The 300X, the boat was completed and delivered to the customer one week before had to leave for 6 weeks(Rotor head). He did not really get past break-in. We got props close and then the lift died, the motor was left down. still it was running 85mph with 5 guys in the boat. I look forward to seeing some proper numbers when he gets back.

Thanks TUFFboat. A vee has advantages that can put a big grin on your face while in the water at times, don't want to trash all those with my pad mods. This one does fly nice now.

I would love to hear how those 21's do in Lake Michigan Spent some time there but in I/O vees. I think my 17' too small for that

Rumor has it that Progression will be making a version of their 22 that will weigh about 800 lb, with a race hatch, etc. Will be graphite/kevlar construction. I wonder...

    I wonder too

What's that gonna cost $250,000 or $350,000 hehehe. At what point do you defeat the purpose of having a 22 foot boat. Wouldn't you simply be better off buying an Allison?

Good point - I don't know about what it will cost, but I want one. Imagine something as fast as an Allison that can run in the rough stuff too? I'm game for that. I'm waiting for more info on it though...

The Tuff 21 day to day will beat and Allison grandsport, it accelerates harder is easier to drive, and will destroy it in rough water, only in in calm water will the Allison pull away..... and slowly.

Scott, The Tuff I built buy an ex Skater racer, look in the merc catalogs for Tuff n'Uff, 32 skater.
If you want a boat that runs fast and eats up rough water, but still has the ability to cruise, you cannot beat theTuff.
