A place called Buck´s Electric in Texarkana used to rebuild jackplate and trim engines. I used them once, many years ago.
Might be worth checking if they are still around...Markus' Performance Boating Links:

I need some brushes

Mine is a bit "variable" this spring for whatever reason. Its not steady speed up down so I too would like to do some brushes. Does anyone know what ones to start with to whittle them down or do we have a supplier for these now? I wonder if prestolite brushes would work?

7050 actuator
Hey guys! It sounds like you guys have already taken these things apart and rebuilt them. I'm in the process now. Mine was leaking fluid pretty badly. Tomorrow I plan to go find some replacement seals from local rubber/hose company. But I wanted to ask you, I noticed when I took this apart that there were 4 small stand offs with springs. Two of them had small steel balls. But only two of them had o-rings on the top of them. Is this normal that two of them didn't have o-rings??

Yes, no O rings there and mine did not have a gasket to seal the end plate, it is just a precise fit. I would replace the bypass screw on the external/bottom while you are ordering parts from T&R. The old style valve screw has a head that pops off and you will lose all fluid.
Mine is 22 years old and the release valve slotted head popping off is its only failure.

Thanks
Thanks for the update. So that's what that is? I wonder how tight you are supposed to make that release bolt. I snugged it as hard as I could without stripping. Maybe I should back it off a bit. That was probably my issue to begin with, it didn't release pressure where it was supposed to.
I'm posting a video to youtube https://youtu.be/FrcCrsA4ySM It's nothing special but maybe it will help people in the future since I couldn't find ANY pictures of this thing.

The head popped off of mine when I lowered it to a hard down position. The pressure is high enough to pop the head off the release/bypass.
