    2x 3.4l mercury black max 300's 25" and 20" $1500 Orlando, FL

I have two 1985 mercury black max 3.4l 300hp outboards they are both the early non cosworth chrome bore engines. I had the 25" engine running on my boat last summer and it runs great, the 20" engine i bought from a gentleman in the tampa area after he twisted the driveshaft and prop shaft. The 25" engine has some corrosion from salt water use but not too bad, the 20" engine is supposedly all fresh water use and it looks like it, very clean powerhead. It also has a bobs nosecone lower unit that needs some work, I do have a extra 30" lower unit that was fully rebuilt by collabella performance, he will cut it down to fit either engine for $150. So you get two complete engines and a extra lower unit for $1500.the 20" engine has a hydraulic steering system with it.

sorry i do not pictures at the moment, they are stored at my shop that i dont get out to very often, but they are as described, some salt corrosion ont he 25" (not very bad) the 20" is very clean. to give you a idea of the price, the rebuilt lower alone from collabella was $900 by itself and has never been run since rebuild

pictures 2, 3, and 4 are the 20" 1, 5, 6 are the 25" engine, they are dirty from sitting out at the shop, but are surprisingly clean of corrosion (even the 25" that was used in salt does not have much) just a little missing paint here and there. I do not have pics of the lowers, but they are all there (the 20" lower with the nose cone is down at collabella, I have to go pick that one up) I do have all the cowlings for them, the 20" has the priginal 300 cowling, the 25" has a later model 275 cosworth cowling, both are in good shape but the paint on the 25" is starting to bubble

So I'm curious. What makes it an offshore If I don't see a midsection with a big snout hanging off of it? I'm under the assumption that anything that says offshore means it has a midsection with above the water exhaust.
If I don't ask any questions, I'll never learn anything.

it is a offshore (saltwater) engine designed for fishing boats, I really have no idea where you would get the idea that it has to have a midsection with above water exhaust?

Maybe because practically every single offshore mid being sold has an exhaust snout hanging out the back.
