    help

    Hey there guys got a question for you.

    So i picked up and stv charger the other day that suposibly has a 200 blackmax on it. i was planning to redo the motor cover and i pealed off the sticker. Under that was a merc xr2 sticker. I know these motors are harder to come by and i wanted to know if it is a 200 or is it the 2.0 150hp. the vin on one side has been scratched off i believe is there any other spot someone might knw where it is the motor is a 1990 any help is much appricated

    Look for serial number on welch plug on top of motor and post

    If the cowl has the vented louvers, the guy was just after that for the motor. I believe the XR2 came with that cowl.

    Motors cowls and mid sections get changed all the time especially on older motors as parts go bad.

    need the number off the power had itself and some pics would help

    Remove the Cowl. Look right between the two heads center of the block TOP. There is a welch Plug (i.e. Small Freeze Plug. There is a Block Serial number stamped on the welch Plug..

    Its not on the head. Its right in the center of the block between both heads directly on top right above the coils.
    What is that serial number? If its the one you posted A129684. I have already posted what you have.
