Cool How is THIS for cool?

Chris Jones created this incredible quarter-scale F1 boat and its fully-functional Mercury Champ outboard. Five years in the making, and it will run in the 50s, with more to go as it is being tuned. To me, this boat goes beyond what most custom-scale RC boats are about. What I especially like about Chris' boat is that its both its performance and appearance are nicely scaled down.

I will feature a full story on this boat very soon.

    That's bad ass Greg!

Always liked the tunnel OBs but they lack the scale/detail of this one.

    Way cool.

When I first saw the photos of this, I was floored. I agree with you Gary - most of the models I've seen don't approach the level of scale details of this one. This quite literally looks like a real boat. I have a few shots of it running too, and it looks like a real Champ boat running as well. I am hoping I will be able to photograph this one running at some point. It's just incredible!

I would think running 50's is fine too.
Fast enough to be flying like a real and maybe not have to be Tom Foley to drive one

    Greg,

You are correct. That's waaaay cool. The builder must have some mad machining skills based on what the mid-section and lower look like. I could look at that thing for hours. I wonder if he's working on a quarter sized driver now?
