    Venom - 225 Promax

Mornin! Just throwing it out there - any Venom owners see 100mph with a 225 pro max??

I'm running a 15" with stock limiter 6750 and have seen a top speed of 97 with a 32ET. Should I be happy? 4 seater fully furnished Venom.

Some jackass suggested I try a 32 cleaver. Thoughts?

Hi Dave. I spin the 32 ET to the limiter or very close too it. I think my gauge is off a few hundred rpm cause I'm all over 6800-6900 rpm which is passed the limiter....

Not sure if I'm the jackass or not but my Venom handles
    perfect with a 30 cleaver on a 15" 200 EFI.
A lot of people were at this past Suwannee run and cantell you my boat has no straight line or cornering issues at all
spinning a cleaver to 7000 rpms with 1.87 gears with a CLE case.
Great boats when set up correctly. I don't like the ET cut on the Venom
for top end runs. Boat hull makes plenty of lift.

I doubt a 32 cleaver will gain you need to go to a 34 if your on the limiter. A 15" X 32 cleaver might drop the rpm a tad but thinking you need more pitch. JMO

Definitely go cleaver. ...I agree with Dave on the 34p . I don't have the venom but when I switched to a cleaver, my top end increased and chine walk decreased significantly.

Pull the limiter and call it a day....You don't wanna go any taller than a 32 anyhow.....My 2 cents.

a pro max doesn't really have a "limiter" per say in the normal sense, they just start going fat so it won't turn up any more.

Going a little over the limiter is normal, with a short wheel I've hit 7500 on a stock ecu because rpm's climbed so fast then it comes back down some but not all the way

But if it were me I'd send ecu off and have it tuned to turn 74-600 so you don't have to try and run a huge wheel and fight it

Just an update to this thread - I moved the limiter (Thanks Simon) to 7400 and tossed on a 30 cleaver (4 blade) and did 103. I know a 3 blade will be quicker... but we have to wait until next summer to find out!
