it's a long process. . .haha. . . i had to go as low as 400 on some, then stepped all the way up to 3000, block for it all to prevent and waves, and then a 3 step buff. . . . . 4 1/2 hours later, looks new again. . . brought me back to my body shop wet sanding days. . .haha

More details on the buffing products and pad types please ! I did my drag hood years ago with my painting buddy. Well , I taped decals and sanded. He buffed. Looked new again. Hit the bad scratches with 320. Thanks Mike

I used a combination. Yes, some areas all down to 320, but be very careful and use a block so as not to get any flat spots in the cowl. Then up to 400, 600, 800 dry, 800 wet, 1000 dry, 1000 wet, 1200 wet, 1500 wet, and 2000 wet. Then I used a cutting compound with a yarn pad, then a medium polish compound with same pad (i used McGuire's products this time, sometimes use 3M), and then a foam pad of cleaner wax, foam of then straight carnuba. She got hand waxed then with collinate marine wax. As you can tell, lot of steps, only scratches did i go as aggressive as needed, whole thing done 1200 wet and above though. Hope that helps :-)
