And the new dad will be starting back about 4' to make room for the 2 8" Simrads and the Garmin 7612 in the middle.

Guessing it leaves room to be cut down and adjusted.

Keep in mind that we "flat decked" that big v shaped hump just in front of the dash, so there will be more windshield, but way less fiberglass. Flat decking it allows for the complex curved corners instead of a sharp 90 on top of the ridges. With Jim Lees windshield, it does not distort images in the corners.
Another benefit to flat decking is that it will allow us to add a deck hatch in front of the windshield that will operate with an electric a cuatro so there will be no exposed latches. This deck hatch will give us awesome access under the deck making work on the dash much easier. It also would allow us to easily move batteries and pumps if we anted to move the cg forward. Of course it also gives extra storage.
i realize that everybody will not like these modifications, and I am fine with that. I am just looking to build a cool boat that can cruise at 80 and keep 4 comfortable.

Seems this post would be better suited for the "Fiberglass and composite discussion."
