Spoke to the boat builder and he told me that a SV27 will run in excess of 90 mph with a 400R and correct prop. I gained 3 mph going from a REV4 to Max5, and are now hitting the rev limiter. I expect to run 90 mph + with the 400R on my old 1984 model Phantom. A 26 CNC should give 2-4 mph more even.

Laveycraft has a clear winner with the deep V step design 2750. Small enough to tow it easily, big enough to use it in all water conditions. Fast as hell (85?) and the MCOB layout is incredibly family friendly. I do not believe there is anything like it offered by any other builder in the world.

I am at 90+ now loaded, waiting on a new set of 5-Blade over-hub from Dewald "proto-type" prop he is making for me to try. Trying to get slip numbers down some more. At 14.5% now with 30" 4-blade Dewald cleavers.
Boat is fantastic to drive, and yes, easy to tow with my F-150. And plenty of room for the family or friends.
A closed bow, Poker-run type half/cabin, with twin 300rs or whatever they bump the HP up to next, would be AWESOME!!! 100mph+ for sure.
I know some have said I should have run the 400r's on it, but I think the weight of the 400r's would mess up the handling. She runs so flat and perfect now, that would be a hard expensive gamble to make.

Since this is a Chaudron SV27 thread, I will say they are also some beautiful boats!!!
I contacted them awhile back to ask about set-up and prop choices for my Lavey, and they were more than happy to talk to me about it. That says a lot for a company that knows I am not going to buy anything from them or a boat for that matter. Course, if I had the money, I wouldn't mind having one of their larger models. The fit, finish, and styling is amazing.
They mostly run the Bravo props. "Cheap, and easy to replace when they throw a blade" was their response. They did say that Cleavers were faster.

The only negative I have with the Chaudron hulls are their beams...very narrow at 6.3 ft for a 27. Otherwise, gorgeous boats.
I CAN ALWAYS MAKE ANOTHER DOLLAR, BUT I CANNOT MAKE ANOTHER DAY

Hi!
Most likely I will order a SV27 (27,8 feet) in the autumn. Not decided yet for the colour though. Orange I think
Excellent service and very good boat for the money despite strong Euro at the moment. Will mount my 400R and i expect 90 mph with the Max5 prop.
Here are an all white with the new 300R. Do not know about the speed yet.

Hi!
Its the old 15 inch Max5. The new 26 pitch will be the same version. I have a slip of 6,8% and can not get my jackplate further up, so I stay with the 15 inch diameter. Maybe I can afford a CN 26 and hit 93-94 mph in the end. Not bad for a 35 years old 25 feet boat and 400 hp.
