Faded shift release mechanism
Can u buy the red part that u squeeze to shift gears on a mercury flush mount shifter it's on an Allison the handle is faded pinkish I see a lot like this like the shifter Don't want to replace it?

You can get trim switches but never tried to replace that part. Good Merc parts guy should be able you tell you.

I've had the control boxes apart for key switches and trim buttons, never to replace the safety lock, but don't see why it couldn't be done.
The local BRP dealer takes Merc contols out a few times a year to replace with OMC, I'm sure there must be a non Merc dealer in your area who does the same, first place I'd check for one.
Then the tricky part begins!
