Randy if you look real close just in front of the motor. You will notice the Bunny's ears. One is standing up with its tip bent over the other is laid out flat. He is crouched down scared to death shivering with Fear.

2 boats in that vid, one called apache needs a little water in the front ballast tank?
Warpath was maybe a touch heavy in the bow or had some tab down?

You can see Warpath has tabs down and Apache is trimmed out and bow light.

Key West Harbor is calm(er) water, until you exit & follow the race course into open water. Many have died and/or been injured over the years, as they leave the calm, and enter the rough, which includes a very large "hole" type crater bottom thats out aways, and that the surface water radically changes on, for the worse. If you don't keep track of where that hole is, and alter your trims, etc., when your on top of it, you can get into some serious trouble fast. Older 41 Apache video, but a good one... Hard to believe, but the 43, 45, & 47, were/are even better in the rough. Enjoy. https://youtu.be/9pDV7vHF2G4

that's the exact video I was thinking of, all they had to do was have a big ole 50-60 sportfish hooked up and come in like a slolum skier and nail it just prior to hitting the monster wake. all I know is I'd never try that in a cat.

as a professional mariner in my early career days I picked up on old sailors terms, one of which is,,," still waters run deep " sounds to me like there's a "hump" out there causing an change in bottom currents to cause a change in surface conditions. fun out
