Stratos VT 180
Anyone know if these boats came standard with some sort of set back plate? I can't see how you can mount a motor directly on the stock transom. I modified my transom so I could bolt my V8 to it, but now I can't get any bow lift at all, and I'm stuck at 75 mph. I figured with the weight of the V8 I'd be better off without a jackplate, but now I think I was wrong. I also raised the transom height so I could run the propshaft level with the pad, but it seems to run better with the shaft about 2 inches below the pad.
