With that huge windshield, I doubt they will see any record speeds out of it. It will definitely be fast, but I'm going to guess they won't see more than teens out of it - which is still really moving for a boat that size! Not fast for $400k though.....

116 MPH with average props. I agree with you guys, ditch the windshield for a lower profile one. (Lee Aerospace comes to mind) Order a set of Herrings or Dewalds or both and its in the mid 120's for sure. Randy has built a nice business out there in Missouri and he builds awesome machines !! Now let me check my Lotto tickets !!!

That is no doubt an awesome rig, but I just don't think it's got good lines. I think the 32DW is a much better looking boat. This one is cut down too much imo, and I can't get past that round "fishbowl" cockpit and windshield. I'm certain they're already running good props, but there's probably still a few mph left. I doubt it will ever see 120+ like the DWs, but it is an incredible performance outboard cat nonetheless. It's basically a long X-Cat with an open pleasure cockpit. Thanks for sharing the wonderful pics!

Rayzor I agree with you !! They all are playing catch up with Doug. After sitting with him watching the way he designed the 28, his ingenuity and knowledge amazes me. It's interesting to go to an event with a DW in attendance and the first thing you see is people sticking their heads under the boat to look at the running surface. Design cues that he has already proven are showing up on everyone's boats. I'm really looking forward to Nick Scafidi's new DW race boat. It's going to incorporate some improvements over even the newest DW Like Gary's. And none of them fly like Gary Balloughs new boat !!!

I am with Rayzor on his opinion. However the cockpit is twice the size of the DW and the boat is longer by 2'. The 32' DW was under 5000lbs and this boat came in around 5500lbs.
If they weighed the same i would expect the MTI be a bit faster and closer to the DW.
Boat has seating for 6 also instead of 4.
I love Darren's DW and they are no doubt the fastest's cats out there in flat water. Time will tell. Skater has two new O/B boats under construction for 400's. A true O/B 318 and cut down 36' getting 15" ROS motors.
I think that based on the MTI's target market this boat will sell well. Those guys build and deliver boats in a timely manner. I wish Pete would do the same.

I think they knocked it out of the park with this 34!

I would love to see an apples to apples comparison with a DW "pleasure" 32 as far as weights, props run, etc.

    Slow typing..just saw post above.

I like her also but if she looks like that and doesn't do 140 at least im not interested. Theirs little 20ft fishing boats with 2.5 mercs that will smoke it for $15000. or less. if im paying a half a million dollars for a go fast boat she better be faster than a bass boat for Christ sake!! Sorry just how i look at things. I would be enbarest to own a slug like that i would feel ripped off!!. With performance of anything else the more ya pay the faster you are. If that boat was 100 grand maybe not so bad only doing under 120mph but if i payed close to a half a million she better not be beat buy a 28ft Skater with twin 300X motors for 70 grand or an Allison XB2002 with a 300 2.5 bass boat at 125mph for 20 grand!! If she cant do 140+ mph and costs 400+ thousand dollars how many can she sleep or how many can dine on board! haha
