First run in the Switzer
Well by this time tomorrow the Switzer needs to be in southern Illinois,so I thought it's only fitting to get her feet wet for the firs time today. So to the lake we go,setup is 260 prop shaft 1 1/2 below pad 28 Steve Smith offshore chopper, was seeing 7300 and still climbing slowly.Run was into the wind nose a little lower than it should have been.Im ready to hit the road.I beleve there is 4 or 5 left it there somewhere. But I'll sleep ok tonight.

Another Switzer reunion is in the history books.Met some good folks had a great meal, talked to mr Switzer a bit, and got the prop wet. There seemed be a lot of debris in the river,I'm not used to dodging sticks, boards, small logs, plastic bags, and ether a pillow or sleeping bag,not sure witch,@85+ it was hard to tell.No bent metal,so all is good.Tom is a very good host and all around nice guy.Stored my boat in his storage building,That was a big help. Was nervous about letting my cowl and prop, sit out at the motel.Even the wife said when we on the pad @ 80/85 it was a blast

Talked to a mutual friend yesterday about that boat. Mr. Ristow. He had very kind things to say about you. He has the hots for another A-boat. He let a very nice one go....that red XB2003 was the best I have ever driven for that model.

Long ago. July 4, 1976 Philadelphia PA to liberty Square on the Delaware river. Went to a race for the Fourth of July celebration obviously. We practiced on Friday or Saturday I can’t remember what the wind was blowing in the river was in full flood remember running around in my tunnel mode boat Trying to test for the race. It was so windy there was a 2 to 3 foot chop on the river I happened to look over to my right Side as I went past a telephone pole sized log about 2 feet away that I had never seen. Went back to the crane put the boat up on the trailer. Proceeded to start choking beer down in the pits. Needless to say race was canceled. Had a fantastic dinner that night at a restaurant called bookbinders. Went on up to the Jersey shore towing the race boat spent three days in Monmouth County seeing friends and then back to Florida wonderful trip thank God we didn’t race
