Question About Set-up With Dual Pro-Poles on a Bullet
My 20' Bullet has dual pro-poles. Now I know this is a good bit of added weight hanging off the rear however everyone knows there's always a better way!
What I am trying to do is help the Hole-Shot! I've noticed that there is way more initial Bow rise which leads to more blow-out on break-over.
I see that the Top Plate seems to help on backwash, as does the Bottom Plate however by looking and calculating what happens as the boat 1st accelerates from dead water it appears that the Pro-Pole mounting bracket possibly digs into the water as the boat accelerates and being they are mounted at transom angle it appears that the brackets should even dig further into the water, pushing the Stern down and aggravating the situation.
Now The Question!
Has anyone experimented with a bottom plate that extends to the Port and Starboard sides, all the way over to the boat hull, instead of just covering the bottom of the Jack Plate?
It appears to me that this would definitely help a Hole-Shot's high bow situation by helping direct water clear of the Pro-Pole Bracket and as in the regular bottom plate, would be clear of the water once the boat was up and running!Last edited by WillySteve; 07-08-2016 at 11:58 AM.

That does indeed help, the bottom plate I made for my bullet is 37" wide iirc and helps a ton.
Also hydrilla gear makes better mounting brackets that don't dig as much and bring the poles closer in on a bullet.
If if you don't have a planing foil that will help too. I like the ones from CB Marine the best
