Question Allision Grandsport vs SS 2000

Which boat do I want to buy the Grand Sport or the SS 2000. This is my first post. I have wanted an Allison all my life. I first wanted one back in the sixties I am now 60 years old and it's on my bucket list. I have been involved in racing many years, now it's time to slow down. LOL

I live on the west coast near Seattle and there are never any Allison's around here. I have not had the opportunity to see the new composite models in person. I look at pictures and Allison's website but I'm just not getting it. I love the center steering with a sliding seat but that's not a must. I know I want more than one seat. I would greatly appreciate some chatter about the differences in the boats.
What one is faster, lighter weight, stronger, better in rough water, and what one has more room? Are the hulls the same and just the interior is different? Sorry to ask such a simple question but not having seen them in person and side-by-side makes it difficult no boats around here that needs to change!

If your looking for a lake boat with room that likes rough water Allison grand sport with 280-260 95-105 mph with a pro max 90-100 a ss is is more of a lake hot rod and goes a little bit quicker both are built impeccable

A lot more room in the GS as its a much bigger boat. Easier to get in and out of from the water and you can walk all over the deck.

The SS is smaller, 3-4 people at most, less room, lighter but about 5-10 mph faster than the GS depending on of its an Excel or Comp. The comp is a center steer 3 person boat about 200 lbs lighter and about 10 mph faster with same power. The excel is only about 100 lbs lighter and only a few mph faster.

I agree with above. One thing they forgot to mention is that the ss 2000 is probably the sexiest boat on the water. JMHO!

I would be interested in that.
A Grand Sport would probably be the best for me but I don't think I could turn down SS they are awesome.
If it comes up let me know

Neither will swamp tied to a Buoy. i always use a snubb line at the bow just in case from 4-5 fters in a storm. What I found works good is to tuck a large mooring buoy in the cavity of the motor when its lifted and bring the motor down on it secure. That way the bow wont rise as much and there for not fall as much either. never had a problem. i leave her in the water for the month of August every night. i love my GS and if i were to do it again i would buy one with a 280. A 2.5lt 2.5XS would also be an excellent choice of power 90+ mph anytime and sip fuel!! There is alot of room in the Grand sport.

I have a 2007 Allison SS2000 with a 2005 2.5 280 HP with 15"mid that might be up for sale in late summer.
I am waiting for a new boat to arrive and I am not sure the delivery date. The Allison is like new -garage kept - low hours - all the best parts and faster than me.

I have never had water come into my Grandsport when it was floating empty and it is about as dry a ride as you will ever find. I have, however, had big a$$ waves come over the bow and drench me on 2 occasions. The 1st was on Lake Mead driving into 50 MPH sustained winds with 70 MPH gusts and the other was caused by a motor yacht plowing and leaving monster wakes. The latter can be avoided by strategically gassing & letting off at the right times.
