Which prop to use for a 1985 Hydrostream Valero

I need help figuring out which prop to use for my 1985 Hydrostream Valero v bottom boat. I have a Mercury 150 pro max rigged to it. I have just been using a standard 25P quicksilver prop and I'm getting around 62 mph and 6500 rpm's. The boat chyna walks around top speed so I don't need anymore bow lift. I think I need some sort of chopper prop but not sure which pitch to start with or what style of chopper prop I need. Any suggestions would help!

Post a photo of the gearcase. Do you mean the boat tops out at 62, or you can't drive past it?

You have to learn to control the chine walk. Do you have solid mounts and a foot throttle?

I have a jack plate and it's set up even with the bottom of the hull. I was wrong in the description though. I am currently getting 5200 rpm's. I kno that I need to turn more rpm's than that. Yes I do have a hot foot.

Thanks. I haven't heard of them but I will try and look them up. What pitch would you suggest if I'm only getting 5200 rpm's on a 25 pitch standard prop.

post a pic showing the side of your lower unit in relation to the bottom of your hull , when you say "even" your prop shaft centre line should be even with the bottom of the hull pad when trimmed so its parallel. Post a pic and more help will come.

I would suggest repairing the motor first, it should be turning 7 grand with that thing.

Okay I will. I have it stored in a boat shed near the lake so I will take pictures this next weekend.
    Thanks
