That would make for a very nice Xmas present....
Certainly nothing wrong with what you are doing but if you want to get the true benefit in performance that boat can deliver you will never have it with a single engine application....JMPO.

...Cats are very weight sensitive....
I think if you get that boat to high 80's maybe low 90's you guys will be doing very well!
I see Joe is being very helpful throwing everything he knows to make it run I just personally think if you are looking to get it to high 90's or even 100 not sure it will happen... Not to mention all the work and money spent.....
The other thing with twins you will not get thrown around especially in the rough stuff because the boat will air out and get on top like cats like to run much easier.

Under powered cats are very weight sensitive---
The other thing (aside from being a single engine) is that the weight is moved forward in this boat compared to a skater. The rear seat is forward 2 feet, the cockpit is longer which moves the two front seats up as well and the tanks are also forward about 8 inches with a bigger capacity.
If we can get the CG to where it airs up and carries itself then top end won't be a major concern for him. It has seen 85 but its like a wash board on smooth water (low fast hop and skip) its no good. It will never be a 100 mph boat with a single-Charlie is at just under 110 with his 21 skater and has big hp along with tons of set up/seat time.

The boat ran 88 previously as set up so If I can get 90 out of it with a single mule pulling it I'll be happy. It's certainly a solid base to set up with twins and get it moving. Would love to see how a 400 would do on it but a pair of XS's is the way to go...
