What is the deal with that boat? I was looking at what I think is the same one last year for sale out in the Arizona area.. Was talking some numbers and next I knew it was sold and sounded like it was heading over seas somewhere..

In that pic you can even see the bottom working. Very crisp image! Skaters may be the coolest boats ever.

I love where you can see the water being disturbed by the pressure just ahead of each sponson. Ive seen the same in some pics of mine. Gives you an idea of the lift going on.

Chris, it's interesting that you say that, because that's always the first place I look in these types of photos. I have some other photos that depict that high pressure area and the associated water disturbance really well. It's dynamics of how a tunnel hull works is really interesting, especially in photos, which capture details like what you described that most videos fail to capture effectively.
Years ago I did a review on Jim Russell's book, The Secrets of Tunnel Boat Design, which I think is a must-read for any tunnel boat enthusiast. Even better is the software, which is just amazing and incredibly entertaining at the same time.

That is such a great picture of Dave's Skater! You can see every detail. The water disturbance, ahead of the stagnation line, that you refer to Chris, is the "Whisker Spray"...this is most often difficult to see in a photo!
