Twin engine Eliminator with 1 straight skeg and 1 swept skeg
Looking at a 22 Eliminator with twin 260's. Boat is pretty nice but has 2 different lowers. Port side is a 2 hole CLE with swept skeg and the starboard has a 4 hole CLE with straight skeg. Besides not looking right is there any other effects running them like this? Thanks.

You will never see a difference from the cockpit. Watch the temps and have fun. Are the units counter rotating? that could make a difference. Don't buy without a test run or two!

If you have two counter rotating lower units, you should have two straight skegs, as the two engines will offset the tendencies of each other to pull to the side.
With your combo, expect losing a little top speed and adding a little steering torque.Markus' Performance Boating Links:

If you decide to buy it, and you are looking for another 4 hole CLE lower case with off shore straight skeg, I would recommend doing it as soon as you can because as far as I know they are not made anymore.
I could be wrong but I am pretty sure all you would have to do is swap the guts out of your two hole into it.
Here is one empty 4 hole lower CLE case and a rebuilt CLE complete 4 hole unit I got from a member of this site. I also have another rebuilt LH lower coming next week from a member of OSO I am pretty sure but it might have been this site. I like to have extras as they also don't make the propshafts anymore I don't think.

Interesting. I have one on my Mirage that is above the bullet. Not sure I have a photo on me but I might.
Not the best pics but what lower is this? I thought it was a 2 hole CLE???

Thank you for the info. It is on a Mirage, so makes sense. Thank you.

Pretty sure in the early days of CLE's swept skegs were RH and straight were LH. Saw this same set up lots boats ran fine.

The only thing you lose with the sporty's is the stern lift you get with CLE's and you won't need it on a Cat I don't think.
Replace CLE's with Sporty's on a high deadrise V and you lose MPH and stern lift from what I have been told.
