so is this correct? 15-18 gets me Block, pucks,Sleeves,Pistons,Crank,Rods. All i need to do is rob the rest of the externals from my 260/280 like fuel system, SVS,pcu, alternator, flywheel, plugs, wires, and stator then plunk it back on the mid and ready to roll? I think there is some confusion about this. But thats the way I understand it? ....AND if you didnt want the HD journalled crank that crt makes for this motor and decided to put your reg one in and your own pistons and rods that price is less than the 15-18 correct?

The way I understand it is the $15K-$18K will get you the block/front half, sleeves, heads/pucks, and porting inserts. Nothing else??

So the way I described it. Basically what they have to offer on the web page would cost what? The crank, pistons and rods are the only other parts listed but not included in that price then? so were does the difference from 15-18 come from? Just the pucks?

I was wondering the same thing? I know HP cost money, but it seems to me that the cost to make high compression pucks and low would be the same? Same for the porting inserts?? Of coarse if you bought all the different combinations then that would raise the total cost.

I'll jump in because I do have some knowledge of it. The 15-18 number is that way because they're still working on getting machine time down. 15-18 buys the block/half, heads, intake inserts, and the tool for the sleeves. It does not include crank, rods, and pistons. They will offer the option of the first generation block that will accept a Mercury crank and therefore Mercury rods. This has been a year long process to get it to this point and I mean an almost everyday thing. I talked to Matthew just a couple hours ago and he said they're still finalizing a few minor things and testing it all before it goes into production. He's been swamped since the show started and just got home today

Thanks Patches for that!! Ya Dave H was saying the same thing to us over on the "A' board. I guess we will all know soon enough after Matthew gets things finalized and streamlined. Then we get to see a price list to know what direction to take depending on budgets and performance needs.
Thanks Again.Last edited by whipper; 02-18-2016 at 06:08 PM.

We walked into the CRT booth at Miami boat show wearing Evinrude hats and the CRT crew didnt hesitate to give us the full tour. The engines are innovative and the machining is second to none. Pictures do not do justice, the sleeves, both pistons, the port inserts are works of art. These guys are top notch, well for merc guys . Anyone that enjoys the sport will appreciate their efforts. Well done
PS. When their 3.5 comes out it is gonna be a game changerLast edited by baja200merk; 02-18-2016 at 11:09 PM.

Whoever said horsepower costs money is right. The pucks will be the same cost to produce, but the high horsepower ones will cost more. Every company does this. Why buy a 200 when you can have a 400 for the same price? Also, the 400 pucks also probably required a lot more research in order to make them produce the most horsepower. What was the price difference between a merc 200 and an S3000 back in the 90's? For the most part, they are the same engine in terms of production costs but the one is probably at least double the price. How about the price differences in any of the new 3L or SHO's? Same story there.
