Evinrude Etec 250 HO water pickup modifications?
I am a Merc guy helping out a friend with an E-Tec 250 HO so if these question sound a bit elementary, well they are, I have not looked at an Evinrude in years.
Has anyone come up with a water pickup modification to the stock E-Tec gear case that will allow it to run at a higher x-dimension? They have that plastic grate over the side water pickups, has anyone messed with it?
When you jack an E-Tec, what is the lowest water pressure you can run and still maintain temperature?
What is the correct water pressure gauge to install?
The motor is on a heavy 21ft Superboat, with a jackplate, that will never break 80mph so a nose cone is not necessary.20ft Lake & Bay Custom "Low Altitude" w/ 300xs

What year is the motor and what gearcase does it have? If its an early 250HO with the original case than it has the Lightning (L2) Lower and does not have the additional LWP holes on the nose like the replacement case/later 250HO's with the M2 lower.
