I crawled around this boat today and it is built very well "very nice glass work". Todd and I had dinner tonight and he told me that this boat should be around 1100 lbs. It has a lot of glass in the hull that could potentially be reduced on a light layup to drop some weight. It almost always seems that when a builder follows a customer request to "make it light" and then something breaks, they become the bad guy-this one is made to last for sure.

Its going to be great to watch Randy and Todd continue to refine things as they work together.

Hey Joe, thanks for dinner and the continual help on getting my family down here, because we were talking about so much last night. I know I get tripped up on which boat got what and weighs what.
The newest ones we are building now are 1100. Th one Randy has is the last of the last of the wood transom boats, plus this one got extra glass in the bottom. It has the bottom of what we would use for a twin engine boat. The Original Talons I have weighed or others have weighed for me are 1325 to 1400. This boat should not be over 1300, I hope. I weighed a lot of the pieces to this boat before we put it all together so we should be around there. I wish I weighed the whole thing assembled, but Randy will get it done.

Was wondering if these would take the 400R as well.

Wildman, are you going to make the 300xs a 15"?

I also found a pic from the other thread that has a cool paint scheme on it...

Thought this was sweet looking too...it's not a Talon but the color combo is great.

No doubt in my mind it will handle the 400R just fine. There is a member on here that has two 250xs on his. Other than it sitting at rest a little steep, it seem to look good when it was running. I know I can make one of these balance out right with twin 300xs on it.

It cost more than the 21 Liberator. I'm gonna load it up with extras like power steering, power hatch, big stereo, etc. Probably mid $60's.
