    2000 Mercury 225 Promax

    SOLD
    2000 Promax 225HP by Mercury Racing, Engine was completely restored and has one season on it (~40 hours). Very clean and runs strong. Powerhead was built with top shelf components, +.015 Vertex coated pistons with 1.5 mm rings, steel caged rod bearings, TDR reeds. No modifications to powerhead. Stock heads. A17 ECU, Factory 260style cowls, stock factory promax midsection adapter plates and can, lower unit is a stock mercury ratcheting lower unit with bobs lower water pickup. Lower unit has new waterpump impeller and gear lube. Recent compression test with engine warm and throttles open, all cylinders were 144# -145# on Snap-on gage.

    Only reason I’m selling it is because I am building a new Promax.Engine can be demonstrated and installation is available. 6000$, Will considertrade in of Mercury outboard (blown up or running). Call Mark 757-84six-897one

    Mine has 10 years on it and must be close to 1000 hrs? Runs like a champ!! These motors are awesome and yours looks sweet! Last year of the Promax before they went X also.

    Thumbs up 2000 Mercury 225 Promax

    Live in BC, Vacation in Muskoka Area(Northern Ontario) for part of the Summer, Which is Where the Charger Is!
    Looks like You've Made some sort of Modification on the Right side of the Lower Unit???
    Sorry, is it a 20" engine?

    Troy, I will entertain trade ins of similar motors that will still have some market value. I usually get similar motors to what I'm selling when people repower after having their engine expire. I can't offer much on trade for old engines with minimal market. As far as shipping to Canada...I have never done it, but my guess is it can be done, but someone is gonna want some $ for import fees or crap like that. But, if you get tired of the cold, come on down and we will hook you up! Oh crap...BC...your on the other side of the planet

    I have a complete 225 3.0 liter dropped a cylinder needs a rebuild kit I can provide more info the block has already been bored 015 over. Call me when you get a chance 409-553-1616

    For reference it cost me around 700 to ship a Proxax from TN to just south of Muskoka, which is where T-Roc says his Charger is.

    Mid section is a stock Promax mid/can with solid motor mounts, swivel pin and yoke are in great shape, no corrosion. Motor is an excellent stock engine, not a Franken-merc Promax. Its going to start getting warmer .....
