The water in the gas was fixed months ago I drained the tank and have checked the water separater everytime I've taken it out since...normally there is a few teaspoons of water in it I drain and then run it...there hasn't been any alarms since then either

A year ago, one of my '01 300X burned a hole in #6 just the pic above. I sent it to Chris Carson for a rebuild last winter. The injectors were cleaned. I also replaced both fuel pumps and the coil/driver for #6. 58 minutes into the break-in cycle, it burned holes in #3 and #5. The fuel was fresh and mixed to 94 octane. In both cases, there were no strange sounds or warnings of any kind from SmartCraft.

I ended up buying a used '05 powerhead which ran flawlessly all season. I'd like to rebuild my '01 to have as a spare, but am worried it will just happen again. I suspect it's in the electronics. I'm curious, could the electronics from the '05 be used on the '01? I see the coil part numbers are different, but would they work?

It's a 300x thing. Chris can do you right and depending on year have the ignitors and coils checked.

Yes, Chris Carson. Last time I just sent him the block. This time I'll send him the whole powerhead.
