All I can say I’m turning A tunnel boat and a race if it’s over five laps you’ll wish you were racing something else. Several of the longest races in the morning stadium with leave your right side black and blue even though I used to run motorcycle kidney belts two At a time underneath my Gentex life jacket. I finally started putting a piece of flexible plastic on my right side To keep from looking like I’ve been kicked by a mule. Racing inboards and turning left Wasn’t quite as bad

All these issues disappeared with safety cells and 5 point harnesses but created a host of new problems like air supplies, rescue, radio communications, hans devices, and so on. This also added cost and wiped out the APBA category numbers that we had in the past.

...amen to that gene. until someone has run offshore to experience the abuse, they will never know. i have pulled my arms out of my shoulders & had three doctors pulling & twisting it to get it back in place, cut finger tips off & sewn back on, been slammed to the side so hard i saw stars, been slammed to the floor over & over again, etc...all for the love of offshore. hey wait a minute, that could explain a few things couldn't it?......

I cannot disagree

I cannot disagree there’s nothing rougher than natural offshore. I’m talking about the old off shore not the close course stuff they do today. The Miami Nassau race in 6 foot seas at 65 or 70 mph. I don’t know about this last picture Fujimoto I think you got a little bit ahead of yourself

Fujimo, would this be Long Beach Marine stadium.
My first experience around boat racing was watching our close family friend Delbert Teague run one of these kneel downs with a screaming tower of power clamped on as a kid.
He would run the drags and then compete in the all classes Enduro to make some money.
Delbert set a speed record in the mid 70's in his class.
I will try to find some pictures.
