    I believe you're implying I designed the original clam shell cowl on the 650 but such is not the case. That was designed by another designer there at plant 6. I take no credit or blame for the clam shell cowl!!

    I spent 6 months in QC in Merc Die Casting - hated every minute of it. Before you picked anything up you spit on it to make sure it was cool to touch. Had a neighbor ran a big die cast machine for 40 years - he made driveshaft housings - had something about his technique that gave the finish they needed, no cold flow, porosity, etc. Hot fricken job, almost as bad as heat treat in the summer.

    Yeah..........."technique" is hard to document or replicate. The "accountants" and HR people do not have a clue about "knowledge transfer"..............
