But, I never got to run through the Dutch canals. Something on my bucket list.

UK boat racer Bill Shakespeare supplied the boats for this film the boat used was a Shakespeare 13ft 6in sportsman we had a private showing of the film at wardour st in London while we were at the Earls Court Boat Show just before the film was announced. The dealer that supplied the film company was Ari De Boom he finished third in the 1970 Paris 6 hr race with a Molinari and standard OMC Johnson stinger and he had the dealership for the boats in Holland. They had 3 boats for the film and all the Shakespere dealers in the UK had a identical outfit and i loaned mine out to the local ABC cinema we helped the cinema manager to carry the boat up some steps to get it inside it nearly gave him a heart attack he was used to sitting on his butt allday.

I PRIDE MYSELF I CAN STRETCH THE TRUTH TO „“ALMOST“ BREAKING ——- but jesus wept —- Mercury PR sails closer to the wind than i do——

Favourite sales pitch of all time was OMC‘S ——- WE BUILD FISHING MOTORS AND GO RACING——-
ALEX [CHARLIE ALEXANDER] replied WE BUILD RACE MOTORS — WIN—-THEN GO FISHING .
