I forget exactly how John got hurt in that boat. I can't remember if it was in a record attempt or testing for it. All I recall is he siad when it happened he knew it was going to be bad.

I always heard he had run a kilo one way and while turning around he hit a cruiser wake that flipped him and broke his back.

"New" vintage restoration to debut at the March 13th - 15th Tavares FL Florida Vintage Raceboat Club's event. Once a beer wagon - always a beer wagon. Congrats to it's new owner/driver Jeff Kent. Paul Heathman's ride back in the days. Hull by Jim Caldwell. Miller American still has it's blue paint under the red Miller paint. The hull was saved by Gary Pugh as the Miller had been bolted to the trailer and used as a display boat.

Lowenbrau was my favorite beer back in high school and Paul and my dad were good friends back in the late 70’s early 80’s I still remember Paul having to go to the emergency room at the Lakeland orange cup regatta when he siphoned some fuel out of a gas tank and it went in his lungs.

Steven Ridgell at the Roy Rogers' museum in Victorville CA.

Dual Mercury outboard engines used to motor, the outdoors man, Roy Rogers on his many adventures.

    Roy Rogers
, and his wife Dale Evans, were upstanding human beings. Roy presented himself as a noble, Hollywood cowboy role model. And Roy also was a spoke person in Mercury Marine advertising.
