That doesn't look like the Lake - where was that shot, do you remember?

You are correct it was bigger and heavier than those other boats. You are also correct about how beat up it was. The part that was not common knowledge was that the original plan was to run the Hudson River race with twins. They brought a second motor with them and planned to rig the boat as a JJ boat for the Marathon. The boat was deemed to beat up to risk running it with twins so you saw the result.

I remember that boat in the Hudson River Marathon... It was pretty beat up by then, but it did finish. It was quite a bit bigger than the Allisons, Checkmates, and Glastrons in its class and gave away a lot in speed....

Gene. I do remember the "Big Noodle". That was the biggest Raveau I ever saw. And Yes Brooke did turn it into a single engine outboard ocean racer. Is that Oliver Land in that picture? I grew up just a few blocks from Hewes North Miami shop.
