    The last Hydrostream Virage

I have been wanting to see this boat since i have first heard of its existence, right here on scream and fly. Have been conversing with AlaskaStreamin for awhile but have never met.Well the window to see this boat opened and i took the chance and drove 3 plus hours to mid state.I was floored Ha ha with the response at my arrival Ron and Caprice came out the door with big smiles and welcomed us to their home. That moment made the trip by its self, but seeing this boat and the work that went into it, a bonus. This boat is truly one of the best looking hydrostreams in my opinion, and it landed in the right guys hands to see it hit the water.Makes me charged to work on my valero this winter to get it ready for running with this beautiful boat next summer.Ron is powering it with 280 merc so it should fly!!! got to see a truly special boat, but came out of this trip with genuine friends to me it does not get any better than that!!!

    What a great post.

Pretty cool to make a trip to see a special boat and come home with new friends and motivation.

Funny reading this now. I was just thinking of a S/F member 15 yrs ago that I hadn't even met yet.
The guy knew I was struggling for motivation on my Vector project when he mailed me a VHS tape of him making passes in his V-king at dawn on the Ohio River.
His open exhaust Merc was singing to me!

Bet I watched that tape a 1000 times that winter!

    Thanks for the great post.
Another great example of the power of this website.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

It was a great day!!! And yes totally inspired. Guess the 2.7 will have to get built this winter for sure. He is powering this with a 280 so I'd just like to be in there somewhere. Also going to open up my core and take care of that this winter

Just packing bags to head back to the "day jobs"in Alaska. Of course the stay here was too short. It was really great to meet another 'stream owner. Not many on the west coast. Thanks to S&F we were able to meet up. Phil is a great guy and I'm sure we will be boating together soon.
I did manage to get the rubrail installed this trip, lay out wiring, and make a list of the rest of the rigging supplies. The upholstery and motor will be done when we come back down in April. We plan on three trips next summer. One to finish rigging and two to play. We plan on driving 24 hrs each way to meet up with the boys in MN for the frost your nuts run again.

This site Scream and Fly has some of the best forums anywhere to be found. Just like this world you have the good and the bad. I have to say I have conversed, learned, purchased, sold, helped, givin, traded and even found religion and talked politics. But it's really more than that. You have the opportunity to take a chance to make yourself a better person, mechanic, fiberglasser, buyer, seller, poltition, and some of you might just need to find religions. Lol thanks Greg for letting us on this site!!!
