110mph with a single 200 in a 24ft Single engine Catamaran ?
Yep * Hauling the mail big time.
Jan Trygve Braaten and Henriette Halvorsen set an amazing UIM 3C World record speed of 110.36 mph, in their Mercury 200xs ROS powered Twister cat....

I would like that boat and motor as a package 4 seater open bow that would sell like hot cakes

What about the 3B Record? 85mph with a 115 on a 20ft cat!! Incredible speeds. The 3C guys will top 100 in offshore races, and the 3Bs over 80, it's a hell of a spectacle

Those records aren't just GPS peaks or radar guns too, they're a 2 way average over a flying kilometer, even more impressive!

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Those class 3C boats are amazing! But lets be honest, those motors are 240hp on the dyno. Still super impressive, but don't think they'd run that # with a true 200hp hanging off the transom. What is the minimum weight for the class, do you know? And if so, is the minimum weight with driver/co-driver and fuel, or empty/dry boat? I'm guessing those rigs are only about 1,700#s fully rigged/dry.

Minimum weight for 3C is 845kg, so 1863 pounds. That includes all safety kit required by the rules, but not crew I believe
