    Resleeving kids Suzuki 15hp

    Hello!
    While working on my looper, I am also rebuilding the motor on my kids small speedboat. Their boat is 3,2m long, equipped with a massaged 15hp -87 suzuki. The motor has been running great for two summers, but in the end of august, we managed to kill it due to lack of cooling(motor mounted to high)
    When looking on ebay for new pistons I found new sleeves at a bargin price! (Cheaper than a rebore)
    Question: If I am about to heat the block and remove the old sleeves in order to replace them with new ones, is there anything else I need to do before I reasemble the motor? The new sleeves looks to be honed and ready to run!

    Greateful for you inputs!
    //Anders

    Someone else may know,but I've never seen a sleeve that can be installed and run as is.At the very least it would need to be finish honed in place. The chances of it being proper size and round after installation is slim to none.

    Ok, guess I Will Bore the cylinders instead of sleeving them.
    About the exhaust housing; the one in the picture must mean a severe lack of flow, no room for the gases to expand. Will I see any improvement by tossing it?Click image for larger version.

    You could take the bottom third of it off and try it,maybe a few more RPMs,but the bottom end will start to go away.

    When I inspected the bores today, I realized they need to be bored. I am thinking perhaps I should by buy A Lisle 16000 rigid hone, and use that one to increase bore size .020.

    If the block is a blind hole,(I'm betting it is) that won't work.And .020 is a long shot even with a rigid hone.
