Wot 6200. Feels like a governer or rev limiter of some sort. It's got plenty of power.

Check if you hit 6200 before wot. Give it 34-35* ign and up the jets .002-.004 -.006 . Then check the burn after a couple hrs. You could be okay with your jets but the gps and top end sound will tell, too fat and she will not do the last 200 RPM and sound almost gergly . That motor had an ign. pointer/marker at the top carb , you must have on the bench. If you really are at 125, 130psi ,165 will give you more.

ONE DAY.... maybe one day... I'll get to drive this boat under it's own power back onto the trailer.

I will bump up the ignition timing, once I figure out where my spark went.
Are there any tricks to narrow down my search, if it's the trigger / switch box / etc?

Download or get paper Seloc or original manual. Check if that ign. has a plug in fuse on the ign plate around the coils or black box.If it's the fuse still check the rest. All parts of the ign are testable your book should tell you the range or other for each . When checking ign timing give a 1-2* extra for delay at top rpm vs crank speed.

Didn't have my ohm-meter with me, but did do a couple tests. Unplugged the kill wire (blk/ylw) at the box, using spark test light, still nothing. Then tried unplugging yellow wires from regulator/rectifier. Still no spark. I'm thinking switch box, but will test tomorrow with the meter.

Hope you bought quality and that's what the problem is. Notice the powerflow lower unit 2:1 with low water pickup muffs on , CHrysler fuel pump , and electronic ign, clean cowl. Looks like a survivor just broken in.

Bought the CDIelectronics switchbox. Ordered from Autoplicity, but it still hasn't left the warehouse.

Good news - - - The switch box / ignition pack replacement from CDI fixed the issue. Started right up in the garage for a quick second.

Update this week - Making speaker boxes and wiring in amplifiers.

Now what sucks? Another week of 45-50* and RAIN RAIN RAIN for the next week.

Haha - That's been all over the news here - I think it's a load of bologna / BALONEY! All of Narraganset Bay is mud. I've been diving out there, and it's like a desert. Flat mud, no bottom structure. An occasional boulder near the shore, but it's boring out there.
I guess they found that ship with X-ray or something. Probably nothing left of it if it's true.

1st time out - Got towed in. Battery wouldn't hold charge. Bought a new starter & battery. $50+$120.
    .
2nd time out - Got towed in. Ignition switch box died. Ordered new $220.
New Switch box installed, started her up in driveway... only running on 2 cylinders. Fried #3 Coil. $22 a piece.
I ordered 3 coils to replace all with new anyway in good faith. $78 with shipping.

3rd time out - Ran ok - Heading back to ramp, Started up the motor, got out of the no-wake zone, hit the gas, and it bogs! Won't even get on plane. #2 brand new coil is dead. Bring back to the house, and put one of the known-good old coils in, and it runs fine.

SILVER LINING - At least Saturday, I got back under my own power !

So now I'm waiting for my replacement coil from Amazon. The old ones were Blue. The new ones say Made in Germany, and are Black.

I want a full day running good before I start messing with anything else. $500 just diagnosing and keeping it running so far.

Are the head-gaskets on these 2-stroke Chrysler powerheads re-usable? If I pull the cyl head off to machine more down, want to know if I need to order another.
