    1983 Hydrostream Varmint

I'm looking to sell my 1983 Hydrostream Varmint bass boat. This boat has a vertical reed 200hp Mercury 2.4 liter V6 outboard mounted to a 6" manual jack plate. The motor is an early 80's I believe. I upgraded it to the three ram mid section. It has relieved exhaust and solid mounts. This motor has a CLE lower unit with a 27p SRX prop. The steering system is a dual ride-guide.

I can't guaranty that you will catch fish in this thing but if you are in a tournament you will definitely be one of the first ones to the fishing hole.

It has two working livewells, and electric trolling motor and a fish finder.

The boat is in really good shape for the year but does need a little TLC. Some of the clearcoat is peeling off on some areas. I extensively went through this boat when I got it and re-cleared the top half. It looked great for a few years but now needs to be re-cleared again from the top of the gunnels down to the rub rail. The clear comes off real easy with a razor blade.

Original core. I'll let you come to your own conclusions on that. I've owned several hydrostreams in the past and some with bad cores so I know what they feel like. This one feels solid going through the water and I have no bad feelings about running it. The transom is solid with no stress cracks in the splash well. I have always kept the boat inside.

It comes on a newer trailer. I believe it is a 1995.

$5500 takes the whole package. I absolute love this boat but with 3 kids I never even used it this year so it is time to let it go to pursue other interests. All I ever use anymore is my Voyager and I got bit by the aviation bug so I'm in the process of getting a plane right now.

Here are a couple youtube videos (you may have to copy into your browser)

That's a sweet boat. I was around that boat a lot the first ten years of its life and drove it a number of times. There aren't too many clean unmolested Varmints out there.

I have a couple local people interested in the motor itself but I would need to sell the boat first.

If anyone is interested I will sell the boat only for $3000.

Neat little boat, how fast is this boat with this current set up? What will it run on GPS?
I to wish you were a little closer as this would make a great conversation piece at our local bass tournaments.
    Thanks for the info.

This has a 27p SRX and comes out of the hole like a rocket. I'm still really debating as to whether or not I really want to sell it. I know I'll never find another one like it. I've never had a boat that attracted as much attention as this thing. The problem for me is that I just bought a plane that I want to put on floats and I really don't fish any tournaments any more.

Let me know if you ever consider selling your Hydrostream Voyager. I love those rigs!
