EGT Pyros
What is the best source for EGT Pyro Probes, wiring and Gage for the 2.5L Mercury? Doesn't appear there are many sources other than Livorsi that make probes specific for installation in the back cover of the 2.5L using a rifle bolt. AND if you get Livorsi probes, will they work with a Autometer or Gaffrig meter?

i like these ones
http://thesensorconnection.com/categ.../multi-channel
especially the ones with a 0-5 volt output to connect to a logger
as the original kit also uses K thermo koppels you can hook them right up
http://www.marineengine.com/parts/me...up-usa/egt-kit
personally have these! AEM

Thanks Ronnie. I see the probe holder and probes are actually available directly from Mercury. Then I can use any compatible head unit...correct?

I have an amazing kit from Exhaust Gas Technologies that has a duel digital gauge that is easy to read and blinks red when it surpasses the limit you set on it. I went through a lot of work to have all the exact components in the kit sent out as Hydrodynamics stopped selling their analog kit a while back and this company kinda took over for them, but I could not be happier! I ordered another kit for my buddies boat and just had them copy my last order I made and they sent it right out. Cool ass dudes to work with too.....comes with their best Stinger probes and all the components, bolts, and desired length wires set up JUST for the 2.5 Merc! If this seems interesting to you I could send you some pics as well as a copy of my receipt so they send you EXACTLY what you need.....I do believe the whole kit was under $500 too!

I like the idea of having some programmability in the readout as far as limit indication. Schramer, does the Exh Gas Tech setup use the rifle bolt probe adapter and probe in the bottom bolts of the back cover like the OEM and Livorsi units? PM me some pics of your set up if you would & Exh Gas Tech contact info...Thanks

Alrighty....heres what i got.....kit comes with everything you see including every nut, ferrell, washer, probe, guage, and any desired extension wire kit you need to get it to the gauge on/near the dash. The numbers are very easy to see in the sun but the high limit red that flashes isn't blatant in DIRECT sunlight but is noticeable in all other conditions....even in direct sunlight you can still see it.
Call Exhaust Gas Technologies @ 1-800-348-4678 and the guy I spoke with was Rick (extremely helpful and a very nice guy) at extension #304 and have them look up my invoices under Chad Schram......he can send you the duplicate order with whatever length extension wires you want....believe mine were 15' or maybe 20' for my STV. You won't be disappointed and you need nothing else but tools with this kit to have a complete install. Enjoy!!!!I have a boat or two.... that I never get to drive

I bought one last year and will never use anything again. The kit I bought has pyro, rpm, and temp. and you can recall highest and set limit that with make screen flash red. I think it was about $500 but cheaper that buy 3 good gauges and no drill big holes in dash. Installation was easy plug and play.
