Buddy, Charlie's drawing gives me an idea. if you will measure the lengths of all of the different aspects of the bottom of your hole, and also use your angle finder to get angles, I can draw it to scale. We can then go back and forth with getting the desired look and angles that you need. I can draw this to you in a PDF. That way, you can see exactly the thicknesses and widths of what your material needs to be. I would be more than glad to help you out.
Charlie, I see that you like to play with AutoCAD. I work in AutoCAD 2d and also inventor 3d on a daily basis.1990 Shadow bass boat w/ 2.4 200 Merc. Totally resto'd boat and love it!

Rob, I took some more pics and got some measurements. I will post those later this morning after a meeting I have. olboatman you are absolutely correct. I have read countless threads here over the years and this is the first time I have ever posted. Tons of info and good people sharing knowledge. Charlie's autocad blew me away when I first saw it, seen the drawing said dang he must have run by the house and drew it and posted. you can see in the pics (that will follow later) how close his drawing is.

There are multiple angles when measuring the pad. but anyhow the pads width on one side is 8 1/4" and 12 degrees. the first strake 7"w x 5/8" deep. 2nd is 6 3/8" x 5/8" deep, 3rd 6" x 1/2" deep then the final is 10 7/8" The center of the pad to the top of the outer edge of the boat is 9 1/2" in height.

Any pics or video of the boat at hi speed? Just trying to get an idea of the ride attitude, and how so much lift would affect it at WOT. Lift is all about keeping balance. Too much lift w/o balance and the boat will be very hard to drive safely. You are in effect making a big slalom ski on your keel. Charlies Glastron originally was a bow dragger that needed to have crazy lift to break free. I believe he also moved wt back to help lift the bow. Just a spectator, but like to see cause and effect from before and after the mods.

To me that offers a pad that the hull will be up on at moderate speeds with the final step up to the narrower surface for top speed.
With the W pad the hull would essentially be running on the 16" wide surface and never really doing the final release.
In reality the difference might only be a few MPH but that may matter.Regards,
Charlie North
