300XS Poppet Diverter

Anyone run a 300xs with Poppet Diverter? I'm trying to reroute some of the exhaust water away from the back of the motor to the side. I'm getting some water ingestion in my motor from all the exhaust water dumping out of the rear like many have experienced. I don't want to shell out for the DBR kit or Mike Nass cowling right now so I'm trying other cheaper alternatives to reroute all that water. I was thinking the poppet diverter will help or even possibly just rerouting that exhaust hose out the side instead of the back. Any ideas? Thanks!

Keep looking someone was selling a fitting and extension that would replace the fitting on the lower cowling. This diverted water away from motor.

Do a search on Riverdavesplace.com under "BigSteve" or "BullheadBully" if I remember correctly one of them was working with Mercury for a design change.

I don't think poppet diverter has anything to do with solving water ingestion in 300xs. Its the rear air inlet of the cowling that needs to be blocked off and drill 3" or 4" hole in front of cowling and add little front cover. I think you can do that mod without any ecm upgrade
